Neuroroarke

The Neurodrive is a device that that gathers information from the brain or it can implant some information right into the brain.

Neurodrives utilise the storage capacity of the human brain and use its empty space to store digital data. They are protected by codeword and are difficult to trace or crack. Data is extracted only with the encrypted codeword which brings the user into a seizure who pronounces all the data only one time; a receiver neurodrive is required to store the spoken data before it's lost for ever. Best neurodrives are military grade, and some are faster.

Sideffects include neural/memory leakage, physical twitches with some motor function loss, mini-seizures and the feeling like having someone else's deja vus.

In Perfect Dark Zero it is used by Nathan Zeigler and Dr. Eustace Caroll.

David Roarke used a neurodrive to steal 70% of Carrington Institute's datacore. The passcode was Xerxes. While fighting with Joanna Dark, she learned the code from Jackson Abbot, and pronouncing the word, brought Roarke to a seizure, where he spoke all data, unable to do anything else.

Trivia

The neurodrive has almost similar in usage as the "data courier" featured in William Gibson's Johnny Mnemonic.
