perfectdark
Prototype cyborg developed by dataDyne to counteract Carrington operatives. Remember that this simulant, unlike all the others, is not human. This means that it may be able to do things which a human cannot.

The DarkSim is the highest level Simulant in the Combat Simulator. It possesses near-omnipotent intelligence and superhuman skill.

Analysis

As the in-game description notes, the DarkSim is NOT human. It runs faster than the PerfectSim, shoots with perfect 100% accuracy (except a moving target using cover), completes objectives with ease, overwhelming all other Simulants except for the PerfectSim, and tends to know where the enemy is at all times, no matter where they might be in the map. The DarkSim is well-adapted at using all types of weapons, including the Fly-by-Wire function of the Slayer. Unlike all other Simulants, it immediately spawns with a Shield if the gadget is available, similarly to a Shieldsim. While they can run nearly twice the normal speed, a SpeedSim can keep up with it, and a C-strafing human player can outrun it.

Like the PerfectSim, when its target respawns, it will fire one shot aimed directly at the respawn location, though the range of it occurring is slightly increased. If selected as teammates, DarkSims make very powerful allies for the player, even with just one in the map against a group of opponents.

Strategies

As these Simulants are a step above the PerfectSim, DarkSims should only be taken on by players who have mastered Perfect Dark. It is highly disadvantageous to face a DarkSim with the radar turned off, as they always know the player's whereabouts and aim directly at their targets even at great distances, making it nearly impossible to win, otherwise. A reliable strategy is to acquire a strong weapon and Shield as quickly as possible, as the DarkSim will do the same and start chasing you down immediately. You must then exploit the A.I. using tactics such as hiding around corners, using mines and grenades, C-strafing, etc. Seeing as how the DarkSim is extremely fast, aggressive, incredibly accurate, and all-seeing, it is essential to get a good head start against one, as it is easy to allow it to continuously spawn-kill you.

Because DarkSims are scripted at a virtually unbeatable level and only appear in the final three of the 30 Challenges, many players in the Perfect Dark community, even experts, find these Simulants very frustrating to defeat and are rarely selected in battle, as some do not bother to directly fight them in combat situations, unlike the PerfectSim.
